Living with an autoimmune disease can affect many parts of daily life. Current treatments may help manage symptoms, but they don’t always go far enough. That’s why researchers are studying new investigational cell therapies that may work differently.

The Ntrust study program is exploring a potential new cell therapy made from natural killer (NK) cells, a normal part of the immune system. This research is focused on understanding whether the investigational cell therapy, called NKX019, is safe and how it may work.

What are natural killer cells?

Natural killer (NK) cells are the immune system’s first responders the body’s first line of defense with the natural ability to find and eliminate cells that can lead to infections and diseases. In the Ntrust clinical research study program, NK cells are collected from healthy donors and engineered to target and eliminate other cells that can lead to autoimmune disease. We call this investigational cell therapy NKX019. It is currently being evaluated in the Ntrust clinical research study program to assess safety and activity.

In the Ntrust-1 study, an investigational cell therapy called NKX019 will be assessed for safety and activity in adults living with lupus nephritis (LN) or primary membranous nephropathy (pMN).

In the Ntrust-2 study, an investigational cell therapy called NKX019 will be assessed for safety and activity in adults living with systemic sclerosis (SSc or scleroderma), idiopathic inflammatory myopathy (IIM or myositis), or ANCA-associated vasculitis (AAV or polyangiitis).
